Dry Skin Brushing

Why Skin Brushing Is Important & What Machine Is The Best

If you want healthy, glowing skin then try using the dry skin brushing system.  Find out what skin brushing can do for you and read the rave reviews about the popular Clarisonic Skin Brushing system.

About Our Skin

The skin has different layers with the top layer being the epidermis.  The tissue like' layer on top of that is called the stratum corneum which is made up of dead skin cells waiting to be sloughed off.

The stratum corneum is sloughed off continually as new skin cells takes its place, this normally happens approximately every 30 days.  However, as we get older this process slows down and the stratum corneum is then only sloughed off every 50 days or so.

So as you can imagine the longer the dead cells are left, the more our skin looks dull and grey.  So what we need to do here is to give it a helping hand and gently brush off the stratum corneum.

Benefits of Skin BrushingDry Skin Brushing

This can be done effectively with with a dry skin brushing technique and can be used on both the face and body

The skin brush exfoliates the face and gets deep into the pores, but there many other benefits for skin brushing too.

  • Removes dead skin cells;
  • Stimulates circulation;
  • Helps remove cellulite;
  • Stimulates the hormones and oil-producing glands;
  • Tones muscles

Removes Dead Skin Cells

As briefly mentioned above, dry skin brushing removes the dead skin layers which improves the skin texture and makes way for new skin cells to come through.  Doing this once a week would suffice, but you could even do it daily to keep the process going and letting new plump skin cells surface.

Helps Remove Cellulite & Tightens The Skin

I was always a believer that you could only get rid of cellulite with a strict diet plan, but since looking into this I think that this could actually work.  Cellulite is lumpy deposits of fat that build up in areas such as the thighs and bottom giving that 'orange peel' look.

If you use the skin brush to go over your cellulite bits, the vibration of the brush will breakdown the toxic, fatty deposits and they will eventually be eliminated through the sweat glands.

Stimulates Hormones

By stimulating the hormones and the oil glands helps keep the body systems working at maximum efficiency.  Also, if you get into the routine of dry skin brushing on a daily basis, will stimulate blood flow to the surface which helps toxins escape more easily through the sweat glands.

Tones Muscles

The nerve endings are also stimulated which in turn activates the individual muscle fibres to move thus keeping muscles active and healthy.

The Clarisonic brush seems to be the most popular one according to the customer reviews on the Amazon website.  Hundreds of women have bought and tried the Clarisonic brush and many have left positive feedback and rave reviews about this product on what it has done for them and their skin.

I must admit that when I first heard of dry skin brushing it was merely a tool to help get rid of the dead skin cells.  I had no idea that it was a fantastic tool for all the above reasons and probably more!
